Research Question Studio

Research Question Studio is one of six PHD.CC studios. It produces a reviewable file and a set of questions a later seminar could reuse.

A question that can fail

Name the object, the population or corpus, the time window, the comparison or mechanism, and the evidence that could actually be gathered. Then write one sentence a skeptical reader could test. If no finding could embarrass the question, it is still a slogan. PHD.CC does not award a doctoral degree.

Narrowing sequence

Theme becomes object. Object becomes sentence. Sentence gets a planned attack: an observation that would force a rewrite. Student research mentoring spends more time on this sentence than on a title slide.

After the sentence

Literature is read with a job: what is known, what is contested, what a student-scale method can add without closing a field. Continue to literature review when the sentence can lose.

Write info@phd.cc with the current sentence, not a named-school target. Apply.
